Dark Novels on Facebook, and Accepting Books

I have created a long overdue Facebook page for this blog you can find it here. I am also trying to drum up some interest for a local (Toledo, Ohio) area book club/swap.

I would also like to start a Dark Novel swap on the internet and host chats to discuss books but I need to learn more about the process. Both of these would have a small fee to cover my costs and possibly have some in reserve.

Once again I am offering my services to review books. I will do this for free if I get a free copy of the book. If you need the book read and reviewed very quickly I will charge a small fee. The books must fit my blog. I will take anything with a touch of the supernatural. It must be fiction and I prefer that it has some action or mystery. I am not big on purely romance but if it has a great story to go with it I am all for it.

I would also like to say thanks to my wonderful mother who gave me the book swap idea on the phone this morning. I just have to work on a plan to get things started.

Do You Make Money Blogging?

ADVERTISING UPDATE

Okay so I have been looking at all the cents that I am making but nothing ads up to a paycheck. It will someday but I have been using Adsense for over a year and have like 35 dollars.I have been paid a few times with Adgetize but I usually use it to advertise. I have also earned a few cents with Amazon and a few dollars with the network I use for advertising Audible.

The only time I make any money and that would be something like a few cents a day is when I spend hours dropping cards and write a post everyday. I could handle the posting everyday part if it would help but it seems that the clicking on Entrecard and Adgetize widgets is the most effective. It still only yields a few cents a day.

I would love to make say $100 dollars a month from blogs but I don't have loads of time to spend promoting my blog. So for now I am just going to keep the advertising I have and work on quality blog posts on my days off. I am going to look for other ways to make money starting with a garage sale where I give up many of my precious books. I am getting rid of most of my fiction and a lot of my non-fiction stuff. I am going to utilize the library that is just a few blocks away. I am also not selling the books that I have not read yet. I am keeping the books I have in the Mercy Thompson Series and the Kate Daniels series because I love them. I will ad the new ones to the collection if my garage sale proceeds are enough. I am not buying books anymore except a few of my favorites. The library will be my new best friend.

I am going to check out the library and see if they have any of the books that Amazon has on blogging for money but I am guessing that you have to make too many changes to a blog to really make any money. I don't want to have to sell my blogging soul for the dollar. Blogging is a hobby and when I focus on the money it is not fun anymore. I don't think I will have a lot of advertising updates from now on as I am going to just relax and try to make some money on other things. If some miracle happens and I start to make some money I will revisit.

I Need Some Ideas?

I now have three blogs and a website. I am posting this here because it is my most popular blog and my favorite. I am trying to promote my Pure Romance website and hopefully going to make a few cents with adsense as I go. I want to boost my website business, there is not much I can do with the actual website because I really can't alter it. So I created a blog with product reviews and romance tips, Carrie's Sexy Romance Tips and Reviews. The other blog is Sexy For Life, it is just a personal blog.

I am looking for ideas on how to boost my business. I am not under the impression that I am going to get rich on blogging or as a Pure romance consultant. I do have a goal of making 250 dollars a month. I am starting with a small goal and hoping to expand as I learn more.

For my Dark Novels blog I have Adgetize, which I only make money with if I click, click and click some more. For my other blogs I am going to try Adsense. I now have an entrecard widget on all three blogs. I want to send traffic to my website and I have no idea where to start.

I am thinking about letting go of the Adgetize ads and just using Amazon ads for the Dark Novels blog. For the other blogs if I can ever get the Adsense to work I am just going to use that. So far I am having trouble getting those to work. If anyone has any tips and tricks or websites to share please let me know.

I could really use the help.

I only have one Dark Novel left to review, so once I have a business plan in place and I do whatever reading I need to for school I will have to get to reading again.

What a Great Day!

Today is my first official day as an unemployed person. I have spent half the morning dropping cards and clicking on Adgetize ads. I am hoping to make a few cents a month with this blog. A few dollars would be even better. I have the time now to try to increase traffic to Dark Novels. I am just not sure the best way to earn a little cash.

I have a lot of Amazon ads because that is where I get all of my books. So if you are going to buy a book that have an ad for, I would really appreciate it if you clicked my ad first. I am not asking anyone to buy something they can't afford to help me out, please don't do that.

I am looking into the CMF ads that I see running on others blogs to ad to my Adgetize ads. Has anyone had any luck with other ad companies. Like I have said before I don't plan to make a fortune maybe enough to buy a book or two a month. So far on the days I work at it I am getting 40-50 cents a day for the Adgetize ads. I would love to get rich blogging but I am just going to work on making up a little of my previous income.

I do have some great news, a friend of my sisters was looking for a place to stay and she has approved government assistance. She had me fill out the paper work and she is working on getting final approval. My upper unit for my duplex should be rented soon. I have a little work to do over there and it will be ready for her to move in. That will give me about 200 a month to put away for repairs. It will no longer be a loss, but we won't really be making money on it unless there are no repairs to be made. That is okay at least we won't be paying 200+ dollars for someone else to live there.

I am going to relax today and work on some computer stuff. I may get on the treadmill soon and I have a doctors appointment but other than that I am going to try to enjoy my first day off. I wish I could play outside with the dog but it is so hot she doesn't want to play much. Then she comes into the AC and she is wild??? I think I am going to work hard to train her to use the treadmill like my old dog used to do. Asuka is just a little over a year and a half now but I just had to share a puppy pic.
