Don't Forget The Fey Contest

>> Wednesday, June 17, 2009

Check the above link to win a copy of and awesome book.

I am at work now but I am almost done working at this job. I can not wait until I have more free time. I am going to work on writing for a small amount of pay. I have been to a few sites that pay for articles and I know I can do this.

I am sorry but for the next few days I may not be able to post. I will be back to daily posting soon. I have a Thursday 13 prepared for tomorrow but I am not sure about my work status for the next two weeks or so. I have basically quit and will be in training my replacement but would prefer to be here as little as possible.

I was blessed to have the job, but it is straining many relationships in my life and I just want to get those relationships back. My plan is to get my masters and get a part time job that pays well. Or a full time job I love doing.

Book Review and Contest-- The Fey by Claudia Hall Christian

>> Tuesday, June 9, 2009

I had trouble finding time to read this book so it took me a few weeks to sneak in enough time to read the whole book. I believe if I had not been so busy this would have been another quick read for me.

After reading The Denver Cereal I was a big fan of Claudia Hall Christian, but now I am a huge fan. This was an exciting thriller. I will hopefully one day read it through again so I don't miss any details. I can't wait to read more!

The Fey is a first class thriller, it is full of action from the first page to the last. Once again Claudia Hall Christian does not disappoint. With her amazing ability to build a character so full and complete I see great things in her future. She covers every aspect of emotion in Alex the lead character in this book.

Sergeant Alexandra Hargreaves, better known as Alex the Fey, feels she is loosing everything. She is released from the hospital broken physically and mentally after a mission gone horribly wrong.

Not only does she have to deal with the loss of her team, and regaining her health, the man who killed them is out there terrorizing her. He is plan is evil to the core, he will break the Fey and bring her crashing down by destroying everything she cares about.

This book is not one you want to miss I give it 5 out of 5 stars, I really can't say much more than it is a must have!

If you would like to win a signed copy you must leave me an email address and a comment in one of the Fey posts. Right below this post Christan has sent me a special excerpt that is not in the book.

The contest will run for two weeks and you must be a resident of the USA

Win a Free copy of The Girl Who Stopped Swimming!

>> Wednesday, April 29, 2009

I have five copies available for this contest. It is limited to the U.S.A. and Canada. Leave me a comment for one entry. For a second entry ad a link to my blog or one of my posts on your blog and let me know when you are done.

This contest will run from now until May 10th 2009.

I have already started reading this book and so far it is excellent. Here is the info about the book, this is not my review.

Lauren Gray Hawthorne needs to make things pretty, whether she's helping her mother keep family skeletons in the closet or sewing her acclaimed art quilts. Her estranged sister, Thalia, is her opposite, an impoverished actress who prides herself on exposing the lurid truths lurking behind middle class niceties.

While Laurel's life seems neatly on track-- a passionate marriage, a treasured daughter, a lovely suburban home-- everything she holds dear is threatened the night she is visited by the ghost of her 13-year-old neighbor Molly. The ghost leads Laurel to the real Molly, floating lifelessly in the Hawthorne's backyard pool. Molly's death is an unseemly mystery that no one in her whitewashed neighborhood is up to solving. Laurel enlists Thalia's help, even though she knows it comes with a high price tag.

Together, they set out on a life-altering journey that triggers startling revelations about their family's haunted past, the true state of Laurel's marriage, and the girl who stopped swimming.
