My update!

>> Thursday, July 30, 2009

I hate to even say this but it looks like things are about to be calm for me the next three weeks. I have several reviews in the works. I wrote a ton of notes on Cry Wolf and Iron Kissed while I waited for my consistently late Doctor for the xray thing I had to have last Friday. The doctor was only an hour late, which is good for her. All is fine there, they had to make sure my tubes were blocked and I couldn't get pregnant.

The notes are pen and paper notes so I now have to go through them and make them into a good review. My wonderful husband also downloaded the audio version of Bone Crossed so I have completed the existing books in the Mercy Thompson series. I really love that series and hope there is more to come. Mercy is one of the best heroines that I have seen in such a series.

I have a few more audio books now to work on getting through because I can listen to them while I work out and while I clean. I can also take them places like the doctor's office where I will have long boring wait. They tend to be expensive thought so I for now I will finish what I have and see where finances are after I start school.

If you have time don't forget to visit my new blog that shares romance tips and products. There is a link to my business website there and if you like the products you can order them direct. I would love your business. Thanks.

Book Review: Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs

>> Friday, July 24, 2009

Blood Bound is the second book in the Mercy Thompson series. If you have not read Moon Called

Mercy Thompson is a walker, she can shapeshift with a great amount of ease from human to coyote and back. She is not like the were wolves who have a painful change and she is smaller in her animal form not bigger. Mercy was raised by the North American Alpha pack of werewolves in Montana. Now she lives in the Tri-cities area of Washington next door to Adam, the area's pack Alpha. She also picked up a roommate, Samuel the son of the Marrok and her childhood love.

Mercy's vampire friend Stephan calls in the favor she owes him, and asks her to attend a meeting as his coyote pet. He buckles her up in a harness for the intimidation factor to visit a vampire that is not supposed to be in the Tri-cities and is suspected of causing trouble. Stephan needs Mercy because she is immune to much of the vampires magic. This vampire is able to control other vampires and can make the werewolves obey him.

Mercy and Stephan find out that this evil vampire has also struck a deal with the devil and has a demon with him. Mercy decides to let the vampires handle their own, until Stephan, Samuel and Adam all go missing and the mistress of the vampire seethe believes she is the only one who can bring them back. I just love Mercy's character and how as soon as it gets personal she jumps right in to save the day.

So with special weapons from her Fae friend and her ability to see ghosts she launches a search for this vampire. You will have to read the rest but I can assure you that it will be a fun read.

I find Mercy to be one of the best characters I have run across in this type of book. I really love how she is torn between Samuel and Adam, who both have laid claim to her. I love how she is not jumping into bed with either of them while she is torn. I love how she fights to keep her own identity even among two dominant werewolves. I love that the more you get into these books she also fights with her own desires as well. She feels a deep need to let someone take care of her that comes out periodical but she doesn't like it. I also love that she is actually an intelligent heroine that learns from some of her mistakes.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

I couldn't wait to read the next one so that review should be up soon.
the first book you can find the review by clicking on the title. You may want to read the first book first although I try not to give any spoilers there might be a few.

Just when you think you have time to relax....

>> Wednesday, July 22, 2009

You take on a new job. Your rental property has a sewer line back up and you have to go back to the doctor. Well I guess it is a good thing I quit my real job and took on a work when you want to job.

I don't really want to complain things could be a lot worse. I just wanted to get this blog and my other blog up to par. I have only done one book review and nothing else really but a few updates.

I thought I had tomorrow to do more but now I have to clean up a yucky mess in the basement of our duplex. It was also super expensive! It doesn't help that I have not seen any money not a dollar since May 15th. I won't get paid from the government until August 1 but then I will get a regular check.

Okay that is enough I am going to go find my bible study book and try to focus on something positive. I could have it much worse and I know it. I will just have to budget my time more wisely.

Pure Romance Blog

>> Saturday, July 18, 2009

I have made a blog to talk about the Pure Romance products I sell. I will include product reviews and Romance tips. I called it Carries Romance Tips and Products. This site is for adults only I have made sure you will get a warning before you enter the site.

It will not have nudity or anything of that nature, but I don't think anyone under 18 should have access this site because of the subject matter. I also did this so I could put a link to my Pure Romance site where products can be ordered. I will try to keep the blog tasteful. I still want everyone to know the subject matter is for enhancing your relationship including having a better sex life.

On that note if you have used Pure Romance products and have something to say about them drop me a line tell me what you liked and what you didn't like. I may include it in my product review.

Book Review: Embrace the Night by Karen Chance

This dark novel was a lot of fun. I liked the other three books a little better but this one was still great. If you have not read the other books this review might be a little revealing. Please read the other reviews first:
Touch The Dark and Claimed by Shadow

Cassandra Palmer learns to control her time traveling powers a little better. She is training with Pritkin, the not so friendly war-mage. Cassie and Pritkin are working together to find the Codex that is believed to break the geis a spell that has her painfully bound to a vampire. Cassie starts to believe her hot mage is not telling her the truth and begins to do some investigating on her own.

Okay so I think I have developed a huge thing for Pritkin, this book explores his character a lot. You even get to meet Pritkins evil father which explains a lot about his personality. Cassie also finds that she is attracted to Pritkin a man that she can't get along with for five minutes. There are a few really hot scenes between the two of them.

Cassie and Mircia eventually go back in time to steal the Codex from an auction before it disappears for good. Cassie doesn't trust that Pritkin wants her to find the codex so she leaves him behind. In the past she finds out a little more about The Codex and Pritkin than she bargained for.

She comes home to face a whole new slew of troubles with the vampire senate and Pritkin. She needs the geis lifted and she can't read the language the Codex is written in. Then there is that God that shows up in the other books to guide her as she rises to her title or Pythia. You will just have to read to see what he has up his sleeve.

So much happens in this book it is hard to follow at times. I read it over about 2 weeks so maybe if it had been one I read in just a few days I would have had an easier time. It is also hard to write a review without giving things away. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. It is a very fun and exciting read.

I am a Pure Romance Consultant

>> Wednesday, July 15, 2009

So I made the plunge into the sales business. I am going to sell fun stuff to spice the love lives of many people. Well at least I am going to try to. I bought the cheapest package so if I hate it or can't make a go of it on with the website I won't be out much.

I am excited about it but I don't plan to have tons of parties I don't want to make a lot of money I really want the discount on the product. I am not that great at sales but I think I could promote a website and I will get one of those.

I don't know the rules on blogger about linking to a website like that, is there a page where I can learn about that. I would want to know if I could put a link to my website with a disclaimer that there was adult material. If not I would just add a piece in my about me spot with an email so one could email me and then I could send the a link.

I don't know I don't want my blog to become about adult material at all so maybe the latter idea is best. My blog itself needs to stay on the mild side, even though half the books are anything but mild.

Well I hope you are all having a great night.....I mean early morning. I am off to bed soon.

Back to Blogging

>> Tuesday, July 14, 2009

First I want to say thanks to the people who visit my blog all the time. I will soon have time to write more reviews and the other stuff that makes my blog interesting. I am going to try to work a little on my creative writing too. I will post some here and others at the associated content site.
I am determined to get this stuff done, but it seems every time I get back into the groove something else happens. I am thinking I will start thinking of my writing as a job and sit down for a few hours every day and work on something writing related.

I am so glad to be done with the inspection on my duplex. All is fixed and the inspection passed so I have a new tenant. We will get our rent money every month from the government for a year. It will take a few months to make up for all the repair costs but it is worth it. That also means we don't have a lot to do to accept Section 8 in the lower unit. It would be nice to have the money every month. The lower unit is occupied but they don't always pay on time, I really hope they can get some assistance as well, they are good people.

I have a Pure Romance party tonight and I am working on getting the house cleaner, which is not so hard when you have been keeping up on it. I actually can't wait I usually get out of the house once a week to meet with friends. We call it small group, and we talk about our weeks and what we need prayer for. Some of the ladies are going to be here tonight. I don't get to hang out much although that may change until I finish school. As long as I can manage it I am just going to take classes on two days a week. I love my husband but it is really nice to have other women to talk to.

I will have 2 credits on Audible next week and I will be buying Bone Crossed by Patricia Briggs so I can catch up with the Mercy Thompson series. I started another book but I can't get my mind off that one. I have also been listening to The Scarlet Letter and I am sorry but at least the first few chapters are boring. I suppose it doesn't help that I listen late at night.

I have been a little bad finding time to catch up on a few supernatural series. I won Blood Ties Season One in a blog contest and quickly got addicted. I also am getting Supernatural from Netflix to watch while on the boring treadmill. I really like this series and my husband seems to enjoy it as well. We just finished season one I think I will probably do a post on these two programs. I also caught up on Medium just before I quit my job and I have a lot to say about that show so I am sure to do a post on that.

SORRY!!!!

>> Wednesday, July 8, 2009

I am so sorry to leave my blog unattended. I have a person who would like to move into my duplex but to accept her government assistance, I had to have it inspected. The inspector left me with a large list of minor repairs that need to be done soon. She looses her status with her assistance if she doesn't find a place to live soon. We found someone to do most everything but it has been a bit of a pain in the but. It doesn't help that our very nice tenants downstairs are very late on their rent. They are so nice I hate to be a jerk and ask where about the money they owe me.

I also had a ton of house work and yard work to catch up on. We got mulch this weekend because my back is killing me from having to spend 3-4 hours weeding each weekend and that is everything but the garden. Short of killing the grass there isn't much I can do about that I still have to mow. Since I am now unemployed I do want to work on some of the things I was putting off.

We own a duplex and we rent a house from my mom and step-dad and I also wanted the house cleaned up. They will be coming over tonight to fix things that are broken here. I just have a few things left and then it should be easier to keep up on. Then I should be back in full swing, maybe I shouldn't take a few days off to read again. When I said I took days off to read that even meant my house work.

Please Help Me

>> Saturday, July 4, 2009

I am asking my readers to come visit my Associated Content page http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/44333/carrie_sund.html. I am going to try to post some of my book reviews and some original creative writing. I will post most of it here as well. That won't make me money but I do want to get my name out there. If you would be so kind as to follow me at the Associated Content site that would be great as well.

I am hoping to make a few dollars a month on some original content or some assignments. The main reason I signed up was to get my name and my writing out where more people could see it. Even if it takes me years I want to be a writer. I feel that I will be taken more seriously with an English degree so I am taking a major step toward that by starting school in the fall. I hope to be accepted into the masters program by next fall or the spring after that.

Thanks
Carrie

Took a Few Days Off to Read

I read two books in the last three days and started another one. I have been reading Patricia Briggs. Last week I finished Cry Wolf (audio book) and have now read the Blood Bound and Iron Kissed. Click here for my review of Moon Called.

Moon Called is the First book in the Mercy Thompson series the next two books are Blood Bound and Iron Kissed. I flew through these books and wanted to get Bone Crossed but it is only available in hard cover and it is expensive. There is a glitch in my audible account that says I don't have an account and they won't be in until Monday. I am tempted to open another account because I enjoyed the books so much I can't wait to read another one. So instead I picked up At Graves End Jeaniene Frost.

I also loved cry wolf, I have the book and the audio version. I didn't realize until I started reading it so many of the characters sounded familiar because it is the pack of Wolves that Mercy's mother sent her to be raised. I will have reviews for each book soon but overall I would recommend this series. Mercy is actually a coyote she was born not made and she has no significant power, like the werewolves or vampires. I like her and I love the two wolves she is torn between.

I have a party to go to today so I don't see the reviews starting until tomorrow. I really do just feel like curling up on the couch for a week and reading from the time I get up until the time I go to bed. I can get away with that a few days but my house needs cleaned and I have other things that need done, such as a few reviews before I forget the details of the books.

I have to add that I will be trying to use more key words in my titles and posts so please bear with me if some of them sound a little silly. I want to drive more traffic to my site. I would also love to link to any bloggers who have a link to me. Let me know if you have a link and I will link to you. I am going to spend some of next week trying to organize my links., they are kind of a mess right now.
